June 2026: SCUMDOGS of the Multiverse

Well, June has been a busy month, and saw some pretty big releases for games we’ve been working on for a while. First up, we dropped the 3.0 update of our CRUX Universal Wargaming rules as an advance release for our Patreon/Tribes supporters. This was a pretty important one and, like the CRUX Universal Roleplaying codex (with which these rules are 100% compatible), this will become a free PDF in the near-ish future.

SCUMDOGS

With the core wargaming engine getting a glow-up, this felt like a good time to drop a new skirmish game utilizing the toolsets found within that codex. So born was SCUMDOGS, a minis-agnostic CRUX single-pager about condemned space pirates battling on the surface of a demonic prison planet. I wanted this one to be crass, goofy, and extremely open to kitbashing & customization. Inspired by some thematic heavy metal bands (one in particular) and 80s toylines (particulary M.U.S.C.L.E.S.), this was a ton of fun to design and play test. The beta release (including the nine Scumdogs pictured) is currently available to our games-backing Patreon and Tribes supporters, but this game should get a proper Kickstarter run later this year, so keep an eye out for that if the subscription thing isn’t your bag.

MEAT-based rumblings…

GMG recently featured MEAT for their Indie Hour series, and we were pretty honored. We’ve been looking for a good excuse to dive back into that one, so I’ve been playing around with some new material. We’ll have more to share soon, but in the meantime, we’re offering a couple of free models via our Patreon. The Investigator (Rooster) and the Hungry Dead Gestalt are both available now. These are part of our Multiverse Monday collection, but those two posts will be free through the end of June (so be sure and snatch these up quick if you’re not a member).

June Free Miniature: Nox

And of course, because we’re all abuzz about SCUMDOGS, here’s a support-free mutant sleaze-lord as the monthly blog model.

Nox with a few of their fellow Scumdogs

That’s it for now, but we’ll be back next month. Until then, happy gaming,
