8/25: Hard Times in Midvald

Dutchmogul here, back with a blog post for the month of August.

Dissent 1.0

We just wrapped our Dissent campaign and it was a whole lot of fun. After some revision to the beta version that went out a couple of years back, we’re in line for a 1.0 release in September. After the game goes to Kickstarter and Patreon/Tribes supporters, it’ll be available for purchase on our storefront. Expect news about that in next month’s blog. If you want to learn more about the game in anticipation of the release, we’ve got a dedicated page on our site.

Rushlight 1.1 & Inn of the Fallen Star

Speaking of revisions, our medieval horror RPG, Rushlight just got a big one! Lots of new content plus some polishing and updates to the core rules, keeping in closer in line with our other CRUX games. Rushlight also got a dedicated starter adventure module, Inn of the Fallen Star, which you can find here (for free) as a sort of stand-alone quick start intro to the game. This game is also perfectly compatible with the aforementioned Dissent.

Bleak Pilgrimage

We just wrapped up a short Kickstarter campaign for a couple of new factions for Bleak Pilgrimage and there are a number of things in the works for that game. In addition to a new, more polished rulebook (replacing the one-sheet format of the original), we’ve got a new faction (Embers of Sohtar) and some terrain elements coming to our Patreon/Tribes supporters in September. While more of a weird/barbaric fantasy vibe, this game will work well with Dissent. In our current campaign, we’re drawing liberally from both books, fighting mercenary companies against desperate cults, and even mixing the elements of each into our forces in some cases.

August Free Miniature: Firecat

As my head is currently in Bleak Pilgrimage expansions, here’s a prototype version of a warrior for the upcoming faction. I ended up going a different direction with the masks along with some other design elements, but this warrior-cultist will be at home in that set or any other faction that could use a multi-purpose spear & crossbow armed barbarian.

That’s all the time I can spare for blogging. Back to the grind, but we’ll be back next month with updates and a new support free model!
