4/26: Warren Peace

Spring is in the air and we currently find ourselves sifting through an anarchy of ideas to find our next big project. Having just tackled a new version of the CRUX rules (and the long-gestating CRUXworld setting supplement), we’re trying to find a voice for our next RPG and/or wargaming project. One thing that’s always helpful in this endeavor is having a game jam to focus some creative energy into some strict guidelines. We’re currently considering an entry for PocketQuest 2026 on DriveThru RPG, and we recently finished Warren Peace, an entry for the One-Page RPG weekender.

That one is a freebie, and it was a real challenge to get the core of the CRUX rules onto a single (and single-sided) page, but it worked well. We’ve actually got quite a few CRUX titles available via out itch page, and if you like what we do, I would encourage you to rate and/or comment on our pieces there, as it really helps with our self esteem and drive to create (silly as that sounds). As always, these simplified rules are forward compatible, meaning you can bring characters from this game into any more complex CRUX game without issue. This was also a good excuse to flex the newest rules, which we’ve been very happy to have in hand.

CRUX & CRUXworld

Speaking of which, those books are headed out to ZineQuest backers shortly. You can get a look at a flip-through below, and we would love to find a way to make these more widely available via a print-on-demand service soon.

The second book, CRUXworld will be available as a free PDF via our site, itch.io, and MyMiniFactory before our May blog post goes live, but we’ll be sure to link it when we post that next month. I’m currently sculpting a series of miniatures based on the monsters and other NPCs from that book, and some of those will be coming to our Patreon and Tribes supporters next month.

April Free Miniature: Peanut

Since we dropped an RPG about warring, mutant, gangster rabbits, here’s one in miniature form. Peanut prints FDM support-free, but also includes a pre-supported version for resin printing.

That’s it for now, but we’ll be back next month, hopefully with a bunch of news on a new project. Until then, I’m hitting the books, video games, and movies for inspiration….
